London Olympia International Art & Antiques Fair June 4 to 14, 2009 Presented at the Olympia Exhibition Halls on Hammersmith Road, this popular fair features antique furniture from almost every period and continent including old oak Elizabethan carved wood beds, Regency mahogany bookcases, Art Deco chairs, Italian 1950s tables, 19th century burr oak desks, George III oak dressers, Anglo-Indian colonial pieces and dining tables of all descriptions. Venice Venice Bienale June 7 to November 22, 2009 The 53rd International Art Exhibition, directed by Daniel Birnbaum, titled Making Worlds. This year, the exhibition will not be divided into sections but instead weave a few themes into an articulated whole, featuring three aspects in particular: the proximity to the processes of production; the relationship between some key artists and successive generations; and an exploration of drawing and painting.
